Welcome to my blog!
Hello, my name is Peace Nemedia. I’m a third year law student at De Montfort University. I’m quite new to blogging but I hope that you subscribe to my blog to get notified of new updates.
Why did I create a blog?
Well, as a legal student, I feel passionately about many topics to do with the law, how we interact with it, and how I study it. However, I don’t feel like there are a lot of outlets available for me to display and discuss my interests.
Therefore, I thought it would make sense to dedicate a space where I could chronicle my journey from a legal student to a legal professional; including my ups and downs, issues I feel like passionately discussing, and the ways I have found to be the most helpful in studying this immense area.
I think there were two main catalysts as to why I finally decided to start one.
The first catalyst for the creation of this blog was the advice I received from a mentor at group mentoring event set up by my university’s careers team.
The mentor told the group that we should not wait until an interview to show our passion for our subjects, and that we should ‘show [our] passion from day one. Make a blog or website to showcase what you have done.’ So, in heeding his advice, I made one.
The second catalyst was because I recently got my exam grades back. I know that the first year of study does not officially count towards my grade classification. However, I believe that starting on a good foundation from first year will help me during the rest of the years of my degree and onward.
I was proud of the grades I received and I hope that any study tips I leave on this blog may help and motivate other students to work hard and receive the grades that they want.
So, to summarise the contents of this blog
- Recording my journey from law student to legal professional
- Discussing legal topics/issues that interest me
- Study tips that enable me to achieve good grades
- Ideas that I feel like sharing and that I feel would benefit other students
I hope that you enjoy reading my posts!
